On September 18, 2019, the first Focuslight Supplier Conference of Automotive Supply Chain was held with great success. The conference aims to open the Focuslight supplier management system in the automotive supply chain and to lay a good foundation of cooperation for Focuslight and the suppliers in the new automotive LiDAR applications, in order to achieve a mutual trust and a win-win cooperation. Dr. Victor Liu, President and CEO of Focuslight, Dr. Chung-En Zah, CTO of Focuslight, Mr. Gavin Zhu, VP of global automotive operations of Focuslight, other related department heads as well as more than 30 supplier representatives attended the conference. Conference Site The conference began with Dr. Victor Liu’s speech. He pointed out that, in recent years along the development of intelligence driving, more and more application possibilities of optical components have attracted the attention of the automotive industry. As one of the biggest manufacturers in the industry, Focuslight has established cooperation with numeral Tier1 manufacturers all over the world and will continue increasing investment in the automotive industry in the future. He also pointed out that the relationship between Focuslight and its suppliers is not a simple upstream-downstream one, but a partnership. Focuslight’s 12-year development cannot be separated from the support and cooperation of all suppliers. In addition to thanking them for their long-term support, he also hoped that they could develop and grow with Focuslight for mutual benefit and win-win results in the automotive industry. Dr. Victor Liu, President & CEO of Focuslight Then, Mr. Gavin Zhu showed the strategy and planning of Focuslight automotive BU. His speech described the market prospect of automotive ADAS industry and the formation of the industrial chain, and showed a huge market for laser source of automotive LiDAR and laser diode based on the technical ability of Focuslight automotive BU. In addition, he presented the roadmap of Focuslight automotive BU’s manufacturing system and quality system, emphasized the core requirements of the manufacturing system----“Zero Accident, Zero Defect, Zero Waste.” It puts forward clear requirements and pushes the suppliers to provide standardized and efficient supplier service mechanism to ensure strong support for rapid development of the company from the supply chain management system. Mr. Gavin Zhu, VP of Focuslight Global Automotive Operations In order to deliver clear information about Focuslight LiDAR laser products and their technical routes, and to better support the research and mass production of the new products, Mr. Leon Li, deputy manager of Focuslight Automotive BU introduced the product R&D route, marketing strategy and values of Focuslight in detail. He emphasized the innovation and application prospect of the products in his speech, explained the concept of win-win cooperation with the suppliers, and encouraged the suppliers to work hand in hand with Focuslight for common development. Mr. Leon Li, Deputy Manager of Focuslight Automotive BU   Mr. Lucas Zhang, Director of Supply Chain Management, made a detailed introduction about strategies and plans for automotive supplier. He emphasized the differences in quality, price, delivery and service between automotive products and non-automotive products, and put forward normalized management requirements. The traditional laser industry supply chain needs to change, grow and continuously improve before turning into a mature automotive supply chain. Mr. Lucas Zhang, Director of Supply Chain Management   The conference also invited Mr. Jianping Huang, senior lecturer of TUV, to share the quality system of automotive products and train the suppliers to have a further understanding and cognition about the quality requirements of automotive products.
